Can't Be Repaired

We purchased this oven from Target approx 2 years ago, and was very happy with it, using it to bake, toast...... However, recently the top function select knob stopped working and the function is set permanently to "Bake." I called KitchenAid customer support and because it is out of warranty they provided me with the name of an authorized repair shop that may be able to assist. I contacted the repair shop and they said that they were unable to repair it because KitchenAid doesn't provide any internal components. Bottom line I spent close to $300 for what I thought was a top quality toaster oven but isn't. Great while it worked.

True Counter Oven

I bought this less then a month ago it's a great toaster oven, very sturdy not a flimsy one like some of the glass is so thin it feels like it will shatter. It's just a smaller version of a big oven. Heats up fast and takes less time to reheat then a regular oven. Cooking is great but, just be careful the top does get real hot.

This is the best choice!

I bought this to downgrade from my oven as an empty nester now. I had a cheapy toaster oven but wanted a better alternative. This is it! It's solid, decent size, works quietly and cooking times have been perfect. I don't use the convection so it gives me the alternative and I don't make toast in it (Around here we call that a toaster!!). Looks good and has a solid door not one of those flimsy cheap models for a fair price.

Perfect size for the countertop!

I purchased this a few months ago when we moved into our new home. I wanted something that was a good size but would fit on my counter. This convection oven is perfect for our busy household. Since the weather has gotten pretty hot in Nevada I use this a lot! It keeps the heat down in the kitchen and works just as good as the oven would for a fast meal, or some family meals. I would highly recommend this product. The reason I only gave it 3 stars is because I wish it would have come in different colors.

Without a doubt, this is the best toaster oven we've owned. We had gotten away from using toaster ovens mostly due to space and limited use from inconsistent heating. This unit has changed our minds and moved us to cooking nearly half of our meals in this new oven. Furthermore, it uses much less power than a conventional oven and cools off quickly compared to that of a conventional oven. Cooks great, saves power, and reduces the amount of heat generated internally.

Countertop Oven

I bought this oven several years ago and love it. This is usually my go to oven to bake most dishes I make. I love the versatility and durability of it. Toast, casseroles, and broiling to brown are what is cooked in this oven.

Second replacement in 11 months

I bought this last June and it started doing strange things like turning itself off, and preheating forever. Kitchen Aid support is excellent and they sent me a replacement with full warranty, the replacement lasted about 1 month and started doing the same thing, I'm on my third oven now and fingers crossed it doesn't have the same issues.

Awesome Oven

Needs some fixin!

This unit takes a little getting use to using all the features. Noticed some documentation errors in instruction manual. Unit needs an internal light. Manual states that pre-heating is not available on Broil when it actually is. Rack position 1 is useless using the multipurpose pan in that the food item being broiled touches the top element. You must use the broiling pan or else the meat drippings will fall on the bottom heating elements. The frozen feature doesn't work when broiling. I typically pop a frozen burger in the oven But thinking that the frozen button would defrost the item but the button is disabled.Instruction manual states that rack position 1 is used for broiling most meats but as stated above most meats hit the top heating element. Broiling from position 2 takes longer to cook and brown.

Do not buy - irreparable

I bought the digital convenction oven in white and it only worked for the first year. The timer on the 'digital' clock runs at triple speed and the oven shuts off. I spent almost $400 with shipping for this product and am extremely disappointed. I was even more shocked when I called Kitchenaid and Jean let me know it's not repairable, they do not have these parts and my warrantee was over. She confirmed Kitchenaid has been making this specific toaster oven since 2015 or earlier and since then- they have not determined how to repair the model!!! Why continue making the product and charging an exorbitant amount - when it's only backed for 1 year. She offered to sell me another one. I am extremely disappointed and shame on this massive corporation that is Kitchenaid to tell a client- sorry we don't know how to fix your appliance. Do not buy.

We loved ours but it broke after 3 years

We loved ours WHEN IT WORKED. We recieved our kitchenaid counter oven for a wedding present. We used it a lot and took great care of it. We noticed a loud screeching sound when the convection button/setting was used, only after about 3 years. A few months later the top button that controls the settings stopped working and is stuck on the "keep warm" mode. So the highest the temperature the oven will get is only 200 degrees. There is only a year warranty on the oven and when I called it would cost more to fix it then replace. The discount they gave me was almost equal to prices I could find online. We picked Kitchenaid because we thought it was one of the more wellmaid and long lasting brands. Sad to say that wasn't the case for this oven. I would add a video of the convection fan sound but I cannot due to the knob no longer being able to change cook settings.

Convection noisy

Bought less than month ago. Convection feature very noisy at medium temperatures (250 and above). Called customer service and was told that this was normal. Unit was not this noisy during 1st week of operation. I was told that nothing could be done. All they would do is make a note of my complaint. Kitchenaid does not back up their warranty promises. Very dissatisfied.

Reliable long lasting

Had this oven now over 5 years. Still works like new. It has some nice features does pizza very nicely and toast and waffles well. Use the frost feature for frozen waffles. Works nice under counter does not overheat surroundings. It's smart on second toasting it knows the oven is hot and reduces time automatically to get consistent results.

Oven is great except the graphics came off

Bought this about three years ago. Works great except the graphics are all coming off. You can not tell which function it is in, such as toast, bake, or broil. There is not really a seal around the door and as the heat escapes over time it seems to leave a film on the outside of the oven. When you wipe off the film it removes the lettering.Called customer support they advised me to look in my use and care guide when using the oven to know where to turn the dial too. Other than that , Great oven!

Great features for the Money!

We were forced to purchase a new Kitchenaid countertop oven when the first one we bought failed after only 18 months and Kitchenaid Service refused to sell parts to fix it- I expected the Kitchenaid brand to stand for quality and durability but it wasn't so... we had to throw it in the trash. We like the digital readout and the settings are much easier than the dial analog oven we had earlier. I just hope this one lasts longer than the 18 months the first one we bought! Fingers crossed!

Exceeded my expectations

My son got this for me for Christmas. I had requested a new (small) stainless steel toaster oven, so when I opened the gift, I was a bit dismayed at the size...it's kinda big. But once I got it on the counter, it didn't really seem overwhelming, plus it's so attractive. My son has one, which he loves, and wanted to make me happy, so that's why he got it. Only thing he wasn't too pleased with was the toast. However, I was quite surprised to discover that my unit does an excellent job toasting...very uniform browning, and responsive light/dark setting. I'm delighted with the ease of operating, very easy to see and set the various functions. The oven temps appear to be true and consistent. The interior is huge, very accommodating to large items. The best part is the convection feature...not sure how it does what it does, but things heat & crisp up beautifully, without getting tough and dry. Re-heated some pizza, and it was even better than the first time. I haven't emptied the crumb tray yet, but that looks like a cinch and won't be messy, like I've experienced with other models in the past. The oven comes with a very nice round pan, and extra rack for the pan, and the rack shelf in the oven that pulls in and out very easily. The only complaint I have is my own clumsiness. Because the oven is so deep, when I went to remove a piece of toast from the back, my knuckle grazed the top heat element...ouch.

I bought this as a second oven because I entertain quite a bit. I put potatoes in it to bake turned it on to 350 and after an hour and a half the potatoes were still hard and they were not big potatoes. It takes forever to toast bread. I used it to reheat food but it has to be set at 400 to repeat even a small amount. I am going to look into returning it. It cost too much for what it does.

Not working correctly after 18 months

Worked great initially, but after 18 months, refuses to preheat and sometimes turns off in the middle of the cooking cycle. I've owned 2 Breville ovens, a Krups version, and thought maybe this KitchenAid might be more durable. It isn't. Buy the extended warranty. You'll need it.

This unit only last about 9 months and then stops heating correctly . Noticed food not cooking and used oven thermometer to verify temp which was 150 degree's off . At first started as 25 then 50 degrees off so gradual . I called KitchenAid and cust service was great they sent me out a replacement and now the 2nd one has done the same thing on less than 6 month's. I had confidence with Kitchenaid products but what happened to Quality ??? I called Customer service thought maybe they would send me a 3rd one but of a higher quality if possible as this model apparently has some issues , Brittany said they are not aware of issue with this model I asked her if she read the reviews on their website that a few of the reviews state the same issue and poor quality S/w supervisor Brittany she said they don't replace with a different better model she said that maybe the problem was with the "color " of this model are you kidding me !!!! I'm now getting a 3rd replacement of the same model ( different color lol ) Kitchenaid should be backing up the product more what would it actually cost them to replace with a hopefully higher quality model instead of paying shipping to send and return the defective model. Do not purchase this model as it will stop working after 6-9 month's not worth the hassle !!!!

Good Cooking, settings not always easy.

The new one cooks extremely well, but learning to use its settings has been a pain, I I have many KA products in my kitchen, and love them. The new one cooks extremely well, but learning to use its settings has been a pain,partly due to the fact that the manual does not clearly explain how the settings work. • It would be helpful if the LCD display showed what mode was in operation. • Since the window in the door is smaller than the earlier version, it would be helpful to have a light in the oven when it's in operation. • Preheat settings demand that you be there when Preheat goes off, put food in oven, and press start again. It would be better to be able to place baked items in the oven during preheat and have the oven go on a cook temp when reheat is completed. • If cooking time is not sufficient and you want to continue for more time at the same setting, you have to turn the oven off, turn it on again and go through the whole setting process again (sometimes including auto preheat coming on again), not just extend the time at the same settings. This means you have to stand there in order to press start after preheat goes off the second time. • After cooking time is completed, the display continues a count down beyond the selected time. Is the oven still on during the additional time? No information is given about this. • Bake temperature range is only 350-450. Some baked items need a lower temperature (custards, certain cakes, etc.) Do I have to retreat to my stove oven for them?

Love the way it cooks and cleans.

I travel with oxygen and worry when I use my gas stove. That's why I bought the 12" convection oven which does not off the threat and cuts cooking time. What I had not expected was that it would definitely improve my cooking . . . especially with chicken and roasts. The only problem I have is that I cannot get rid of the preheat feature. It preheats for darned near everything but toast and then need to be reheated.

The door has a gap

I like toaster ovens! This works well. I bought mine from a department store. But there is a gap in the door. It never occurred to me to have it replaced until I came across these reviews when I was looking for a replacement manual. I use mine for roasting veggies, frittatas, bacon, sweet potatoes. I bought a whole chicken to roast. I hope the gap in the door doesn't affect its roasting. I would recommend this to use because I'm thinking it's not common for the door to have a gap and I've been able to use it as it is. But I'm concerned since I sold my house (downsizing, empty nester) and wanted to use it as my exclusive oven. I don't like microwaves so I bought this with the intent to use it a lot for a variety of recipes.
