Update to review Melted Control Panel

I used the self-cleaning feature for the first time, set timer for 2:30 and walked away. Sat down in my chair and noticed that the display was black/no display. I got a little closer and noticed that the display was melted, charred and the exhaust fan on the above microwave was now running. I called Whirlpool and was immediately transferred to safety. After explaining the situation he set me up with a tech. to come and give a diagnosis. He came and talked to someone on the phone who recommended repairs. A few weeks later, after Thanksgiving, the repairs were made for free and the gas range works. The tech. did recommend to not use the self-cleaning option again and I agreed. The MSRP is $849, I would not pay $8.49 for another Whirlpool product. I also paid $349 for a Breville countertop oven, so we could cook a turkey for Thanksgiving.

I bought this stove 2 years ago. It works well but the cast iron grates are sagging over the burners. Customer service didn't help with replacing them because it was 2 years old. New grates cost $186.95 which is ridiculous....the total cost of the range is $545.00. Why would I pay almost half the new stove price to replace a part on a unit that is ONLY 2 YEARS OLD???? I will just replace my stove with one made by any COMPANY OTHER THAN WHIRLPOOL!!!

This appliance came as an "upgraded appliance" when my fiance and I purchased our home. I must say that it is very easy to use. The main concept that is cool about it, is that it maintains the heat temperature by turning the gas on and off as necessary. This is my most favorite aspect of this oven, as you save so much more $$$ per month in gas.
There is also a nice self-clean cycle that you can use. This will heat up the oven just enough to make it more easy to get those stubborn spills that stick to the bottom of the oven.
The size of this oven is standard and comes with two shelves, but just like any other oven, you can move them around depending on what you're cooking. This oven makes indoor grilling a breeze as well!
I highly recommend this oven!

These burners are the most inconsistent feature of an appliance I have used post 1990. It depends on their zodiac reading whether or not that want to actually light up. Half the time I need to just manually light it with a butane lighter, and even then the flame is unruly and asymmetrical. Just unbelievably disappointed that our builders installed this unit instead of asking us to fork over a couple hundred more dollars for anything else.

Replaced a 14 year old Whirlpool gas range. This new one is quite an improvement, but those grates over the burners are heavy and difficult to clean. Requires washing in dishwasher which is difficult for wife to do. Otherwise we love it.

I bought this range in July of 2017 for a rental house that we refurbished. We chose not to buy the extended warranty from the retailer. Of course, just a few months after the 12 month warranty expired, the burners failed to ignite. We called a service technician who replaced the igniter for about $300 for parts and labor using the manufacturer's parts. Here we are about 6 months later, same issue. The service technician recommends replacing the range with another model because this one is junk in his opinion. So i called the Whirlpool warranty line to see if there is a known problem with this range. After giving the model number (WFG515S0ES) the customer service phone rep told me that they had no record of this model number and that I must have the number wrong - to call back with the right model number and serial number.
Needless to say, if Whirlpool customer service does not have a record of the model number of this range, I don't have much confidence in them to help me understand the root cause of the igniter problem and perhaps install something that will last longer than a few months. I will be forced to pitch this 18 month old range and order a new one while trying to recover my reputation as a landlord with my angry tenants.

We love our gas stove and oven, especially the oven's auto ignition and temperature management features. Following recipes becomes so much easier when you can rely on your oven to keep a specific temperature for an exact amount of time.
My only observation would be the big spaces on the burners top grill. Most of small pans end up having poor support and swivel a bit because of it.

For a entry level range it's OK. The range came with the new condo we purchased. The good: 2 power burners up front, 2 simmer burners in the rear. The grating across the top is OK.
The bad: Pans don't sit flat, and the grates are hard to clean. The & broiler and oven are a 1 star. Heats uneven & temps are way off. The broiler is useless due to it's small size.

I've had my new range for about 2 months. It's a "no-frills" appliance, but it does the job. The oven heats up quickly and bakes/roasts evenly. Two of the The top burners are power burners and they boil water quickly. The simmer burners are great for keeping food warm. My only complaint is that the oven is load as it heats-I can hear the click when the oven maintains the temp.

The range seems to be ok (we just got it a couple of weeks ago). One issue so far, one of the gas burners does not light consistently when turned on. The other burners seem ok. Worst oven ever and it immediately broke. This is as basic as an oven from 30 years ago. This oven was in the new home we bought. It is new, only a month old and we immediatley had problems with it. First the oven (gas) sometimes refuses to light. Sometimes it lights fine and seems to bake ok. It will light, bring the oven to temp, then stop heating but the controls say it is still at temp and there is no way of knowing until the door is opened and it is obviously not hot and the food is obviously not cooking. All the burners, even the small ones will not turn down to a simmer. Both high power burners are in the front and even on low, they are super hot. I am short so cooking on the back burners is difficult. I hope we can at least get it to work until we can replace it with a more modern and sensible range. I would not have bought this range if I was choosing one myself even if it were to work perfectly.

This range came with our new home and we've used it for 2.5 years. We have had some intermittent issues with burners not lighting but it's been pretty rare. My real issue is the broiler, which is a single tube running down the center of the over ceiling with a reflector. It does not broil anywhere close to evenly. Even just for simple garlic bread, I have to move the pan around, remove half of the bread, reposition the pan, etc. to get them all done.

This stove is an upgrade from our original with regards to looks. The performance is not quite the same. We have had some issues with lighting the burners and items boiling on low heat. Oven light burned out two weeks after we got the stove. Cooktop is hard to clean.

We got this stove on sale at Menards. It doesn't look good for a supposed stainless steel model but it works well. The two front burners emit a pretty large flame, which is good for the big pots we use. The oven heats to 450 degrees in about 7 minutes which is faster than the 20 minutes it took our old oven to heat. The only significant feature is the self cleaning. We haven't had to use self cleaning since we've owned it for just two weeks. So far, I give this a thumbs up and can recommend it to friends. However, if I could go back in time, I would buy a better looking Whirlpool stove. We thought it would look ok in our kitchen but it doesn't. Our fault, not the stove's.

I bought this to replace my old range, well at first I wondered if I'd like the large grates, they are great! If you want to move your pan all I need is to slide it. The oven bakes well too. I really am happy with it.
